August 2018 Thunderstorm
For most of the summer we have had no rain whatsoever. Well Monday evening through this evening we have had several severe thunderstorms and mother nature has sure put on a show. These photos were taken from Orem Central Frontrunner Station on Monday, August 20, 2018 while I was waiting to ride the train home from work. It was awesome to watch and the thunder was magnificent.
This morning, August 22, 2018 we had a bit of a rest from the thunderstorms and I took this beautiful cloud formation from the Midvale Fort Union TRAX station as I waited this morning for the light rail to the frontrunner station in Murray to work.

Mt. Olympus 8-10-18
This photo was taken yesterday, August 10th, 2018 from the Midvale Fort Union TRAX station on my commute to work. We've been having a lot of unfortunate wilderness fires here in Utah, all set by lightning and that combined with the fires in California bringing unwelcome smoke and soot into our air here in Utah has resulted in unhealthy air quality for the past week, but I stopped and noticed the beautiful sky above Mt. Olympus while waiting for the Blue Line TRAX train. It's amazing the random beauty that can be presented by nature despite the horrific things happening within it.
U.T.A. Timpanogos Transit Center
In Utah County when I first moved to Utah back in 1984, the Utah Transit Authority ran it's bus service through what was then called The University Mall. It was the only mall in Utah County at that time. They ran a small service by what is now a Sporting Goods store and Food Court. But on the 20th of August 2000, the service was getting so large, the population was booming in Utah County, particularly in the Orem/Provo area, U.T.A. built the Timpanogos Transit Center to accommodate the larger passenger base and the ever expanding University Mall.
Jump forward to today, shy 8 days prior to exactly 18 years later, the population is expanding once again to record highs, University Mall is now known as University Place and has expanded into the parking lots of the property and now this station, beginning on Monday, the 13th will be no more. The U.T.A. service is opening what will be known as UVX (Bus Rapid Transit), "light rail on rubber tires." The new "University Place" station will be located right on University Parkway just south of University Place about a 2-3 minute walk from the Timpanogos Transit Center.
I took some photos before my personally last departure from this station yesterday, Friday, August 10th, 2018. I never really looked at this station before yesterday and came to admire the architecture, its beauty, its uniqueness. It will be missed, but it's exciting to see things grow and expand, hopefully for the better and will make for an even more efficient transit system for Utah County.

Morning Clouds / Mt. Olympus
The first two photos were taken while I was waiting for the morning Front Runner train to Orem for work. We had had a nice thunderstorm early morning and the clouds were just beautiful post storm. The third photo is a view of beautiful Mt. Olympus while I was waiting for the morning Front Runner train to Orem for work. All three were taken across from the Murray IHC Medical Center at the Murray Central Front Runner/TRAX station. Beautiful morning.
